What is PrivacyNumber?
PrivacyNumber is a privacy-first telecom provider that sells real, long-term local mobile and landline phone numbers in 47 countries, with no identity verification and crypto-only billing. Each line is a genuine number allocated inside its country's national numbering plan — a French line is a real +33 6/7 mobile, a US line carries a real area code like 212 or 415 — managed entirely from a web panel.
We occupy a specific category: private telecom you keep, not disposable infrastructure. A PrivacyNumber line is yours for as long as you renew it, with full two-way calling, SMS/MMS, voicemail and optional AI features. It is the opposite of a throwaway OTP code or a recycled gateway number.
- Real local lines, not shared VoIP relays or +1-800 bridges
- No KYC, no app, no SIM — browser only
- Crypto-only payment, no card on file
If you are weighing a permanent line against a temporary one, our guide on long-term vs temporary numbers explains the trade-offs.
Why does no KYC matter — what is the privacy thesis?
No KYC matters because data you never collect cannot be leaked, subpoenaed or sold. PrivacyNumber is built on data-minimization: we do not ask for your name, address, government ID or payment card, so there is simply no identity dataset attached to your phone line in the first place.
Most providers tie a number to a verified identity, then store that record indefinitely. That record becomes a liability — a target for breaches, a response to legal demands, and an asset that can be monetized. Our position is that the safest database is the one that does not exist.
- No identity on file — no ID, name, address or card to expose
- Email is optional and login-only — it is your panel access channel, not an identity check
- Crypto billing — we settle every payment to Monero (XMR), so the only thing observed is the on-chain transaction
This is what privacy-first telecom means in practice. Read more in how to keep your phone number private and our privacy policy.
How does PrivacyNumber work end to end?
You get a working line in four steps: pick a country, pick a number, pay in crypto, and the line is live in under 60 seconds — then you manage everything from the web panel. No account signup, identity check or app install is required to receive your number.
- Pick a country. Browse availability across all 47 countries and choose mobile or landline.
- Pick a number. Select a standard line, or pay a small premium for a memorable pattern.
- Pay in crypto. Choose from 30+ coins at checkout; payment confirms on-chain.
- Go live in 60 seconds. The line activates and appears in your panel, ready for calls and SMS.
From the panel you handle inbound and outbound HD calls, send and receive SMS/MMS, read voicemail with transcription and translation, schedule messages, toggle on/off windows, and rotate caller ID. Developers and AI agents can drive the same actions through our REST API and webhooks. Optional AI add-ons handle auto-pickup, call screening, voicemail summaries and live translation across 50+ languages.
Is PrivacyNumber legal, and what use is allowed?
Yes — PrivacyNumber is a legitimate telecom service, and the lawful uses are broad: privacy, account verification, a business second line, travel and expat continuity, and any normal calling or messaging. Privacy is not the same as anonymity for wrongdoing, and our terms draw that line clearly.
We prohibit fraud, harassment, spam, impersonation and any use that breaks the law in your jurisdiction or the number's country. Operating without KYC does not exempt anyone from those rules; abuse leads to suspension. The full boundaries are in our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms.
Honest note: most consumer apps and OTP flows accept our lines, but some VoIP-aware fintech apps (for example Venmo and CashApp) and some banks or government portals run identity checks beyond SMS that no virtual provider can bypass. See supported verification use-cases for what works reliably.
How do billing, refunds and reliability work?
Billing is crypto-only and transparent: a USD baseline of $7.49/mo adjusted by country tier, line type and billing period, plus a one-time $10 setup on your first invoice. Effective prices run roughly $3.58/mo (budget landline, yearly) to $16.18/mo (premium top-tier mobile, monthly). You can cancel any time by toggling auto-renew off — no fees and no claw-back.
| Item | How it works |
|---|---|
| Payment | 30+ coins at checkout; we settle to crypto on our side |
| Period discounts | Quarterly −10%, yearly −25% |
| Setup fee | One-time $10, first invoice only |
| Refunds | 7-day window for unused service; pro-rated for outages, paid in the same crypto |
If a service rejects a freshly activated line, support swaps you to a different carrier range free within 7 days. See full pricing and the refund policy, and check live availability and incidents on our status page.
How do I reach a human at PrivacyNumber?
Reach us through the contact form — that is the single channel for support, billing questions and carrier-range swaps. We deliberately do not publish a public email address or phone line, both to keep your inquiry private and to keep support tied to your panel rather than to an identity on file.
For most issues you will not need us at all: number selection, payment, activation, caller-ID settings, AI add-ons and cancellation are all self-service in the web panel. When you do write in, include your line and a clear description; because we hold no identity record, the panel and your line details are how we locate your service.

Frequently asked questions
-
Is a PrivacyNumber a real phone number or a VoIP relay?
It is a real long-term number allocated inside the destination country's national numbering plan — a genuine local mobile or landline, not a shared VoIP relay, a +1-800 bridge or a recycled OTP gateway. A French line is a real +33 6/7 mobile and a US line carries a real area code. You keep it for as long as you renew, and it supports two-way calls, SMS/MMS and voicemail.
-
Do you really require no KYC?
Yes. We never ask for ID, name, address or payment card. The only optional detail is an email address, which serves solely as your login channel to the web panel; for the autonomous AI-agent (x402) flow even that is optional. Because we collect no identity dataset, there is nothing to leak, subpoena or sell — data-minimization is the core of the service, not an afterthought.
-
Why is payment crypto-only?
Crypto-only billing keeps payment consistent with our no-KYC model: there is no card or bank record tying a line to your identity. We accept 30+ coins at human checkout and settle every payment to Monero (XMR) on our side, so the only thing observed is the on-chain transaction. Autonomous AI agents can order and pay via x402 (USDC on Base) with no account at all.
-
Will my number work with every app and bank?
Most consumer apps and OTP flows accept our lines, but we are honest about the limits: some VoIP-aware fintech apps such as Venmo and CashApp, and some banks or government portals, run identity checks beyond SMS that no virtual provider can bypass. If a service rejects a freshly activated line, support swaps you to a different carrier range free within seven days.
-
Is there an app to download?
No. PrivacyNumber is web-panel only and works in any browser on any device — desktop or mobile. There is no iOS or Android app, no eSIM and no physical SIM to install. You manage calls, SMS, voicemail, scheduling, caller-ID settings and AI add-ons entirely from the panel, and developers can automate the same actions through our REST API and webhooks.
-
Can I cancel and get a refund?
You can cancel any time by toggling auto-renew off in the panel — there are no cancellation fees and no claw-back. Refunds follow a 7-day window for unused service and are pro-rated for provider outages, paid back in the same cryptocurrency you used. Full terms are in our refund policy, and live availability and incidents are posted on the status page.
-
How long does activation take?
Under 60 seconds. Once your crypto payment confirms on-chain, the line activates automatically and appears in your web panel, ready to make and receive calls and SMS immediately. There is no waiting period, manual review or identity approval step, because there is no KYC process to clear in the first place.
